Battle Tactics
At the start of your hero phase, you must pick 1 battle tactic from the list below. You must reveal your choice to your opponent, and if your battle tactic instructs you to pick something, you must tell your opponent what you pick. You have until the end of that turn to complete the battle tactic. You cannot pick the same battle tactic more than once per battle.
Universal Battle Tactics
- Seize the Centre - have 2 or more friendly units within 3” of the centre of the battlefield and not in combat at the end of your turn.
- Take the Flanks - at the end of your turn, have at least 1 friendly unit within 6” of each short battlefield edge, neither of which being wholly within your territory or set up this turn.
- Take Their Land - pick a terrain feature partially or wholly within enemy territory and wholly outside your territory; complete this tactic if you control that terrain feature at the end of your turn.
- Do Not Waver - 2 or more friendly units fought and no friendly units were destroyed this turn.
- Attack on Two Fronts - take control of 2 or more objectives that you didn’t control at the start of the turn, with at least one having been under enemy control at the start of the turn.
- Slay the Entourage - pick a unit in the enemy general’s regiment; complete this tactic if that unit is destroyed this turn.
Grand Alliance Battle Tactics
Order
- Reclaim the Realm - at the end of your turn, have 1 or more friendly units wholly within each quarter of the battlefield and more than 6” away from enemy units.
- Slay the Tyrants - kill an enemy hero with combat attacks made by friendly units this turn.
Chaos
- Ordained Charge - pick an objective controlled by your opponent, you complete this tactic if 2 or more friendly units charged, 1 or more of them are contesting that objective and it is under your control at the end of the turn.
- Offering of Carnage - complete this tactic if 2 or more enemy units were destroyed this turn.
Destruction
- Time to Get Stuck In - pick 3 units wholly within friendly territory and not in combat. Complete this tactic if at the end of your turn, each of those units is wholly outside of your territory and fought this turn.
- The Kunnin Approach - pick an enemy unit that is in combat and a friendly unit that is not in combat. Complete this tactic if, at the end of your turn, that friendly unit was in combat with that enemy unit and that enemy unit was destroyed.
Death
- Inevitable Demise - complete this tactic if, at the end of your turn, 2 or more friendly units are wholly within enemy territory and more than 9” away from all enemy units and none were set up this turn.
- Marked for the Grave - pick a non-hero unit that hasn’t had any models slain during this battle. Complete this tactic if at the end of your turn that unit has been destroyed. You can pick a hero unit, if only hero units remain on the battlefield.
